Therefore, when these materials are glued one on top of the other, they dampen each other, which results in the desired effect. The greater the thickness or number of layers of such materials, the greater the damping effect, but it should be remembered that these materials are not light, so the weight of the car parts also increases rapidly. So if you are going to glue the trunk lid with vibration isolation material, consider that the lid's gas shock absorbers will have to overcome all the additional weight so that it does not lower itself.

Sound insulation

At this stage, the goal is to maximally suppress stray noise reflections in the mid- and high-frequency range. The most effective sound insulation material for this purpose is felt or pyramid-shaped sheets. But it should be remembered that due to the temperature difference, moisture condenses on the surfaces of car parts, and when it rains, water directly flows from the glass inside the doors.

Therefore, before purchasing soundproofing materials, it is recommended to choose responsibly or consult with the specialists of the Autogaras salon or service. To avoid such unpleasant moments when, as soon as you start enjoying the results of soundproofing, unpleasant creaks appear in the car after the first rain or humid weather. In such places, closed-pore materials are used, the moisture absorption of which is minimal.
