The following are the award-winning Hi-Fi systems for 2023-2024:

MoFi SourcePoint 8 - speakers

Although MoFi Electronics is a relatively new company to the speaker market, the excellent performance of the SourcePoint 8 speaks volumes about its proven track record. The retro-style design of this floor-standing model belies the fact that it is a thoroughly modern design, featuring the latest coaxial driver technology from renowned engineer Andrew Jones, carefully engineered to deliver seamlessly integrated full-range performance. Bower & Wilkins 703 S3 - sound speakers

Impressive bass, high-frequency detail and a seamless soundscape are testament to the engineering skills that have gone into the third-generation Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series, much of which has been lifted from the top-of-the-range 800 D4 models. Nowhere is this more evident than in the 703 S3, a slim tower that for the first time gets a tweeter at the top, along with a pair of 165mm Aerofoil woofers and a 150mm Continuum cone midrange.This floor stand ensures an engaging and emotional listening experience, making excellent B&W performance accessible to more music lovers. The new Mocha color, in addition to the classic white or black colors, is also stunning.

Perlisten R7t - audio speakers

Although it’s the younger version of Perlisten’s flagship S7t, this floorstanding speaker inherits so much of its sibling’s design and engineering DNA that it’s guaranteed to be a premium speaker. The company’s proprietary DPC (Directivity Pattern Control) array takes center stage – its carefully optimized trio of mid- and high-frequency drivers flanked by woofers/mid- and woofers, in a four-way design that allows for ventilation and sealing. Throughout the flight, the R7t creates a large-scale, sensual sound, supported by deep and tightly controlled bass that seamlessly blends with rich midrange tones and fine treble detail. These speakers deserve the highest praise.

Wilson Audio Alexia V - speakers

The Alexia V represents Wilson Audio’s approach to premium loudspeaker design, from custom drivers and custom cabinet materials to upgradeability and a range of luxurious finishes. A three-way model, its lower cabinet, made from a proprietary V-shaped material and housing 200mm and 255mm woofers, features separate midrange and tweeter enclosures, both adjustable for precise timing. As a result, the Alexia V’s performance can be tailored to any environment, and the listening experience is magnificent: expansive, exquisitely detailed and completely devoid of the speakers themselves. To sum it up in one word? Magnificent.

KEF LSX II - speakers

With this second-generation update to the EISA award-winning LSX speakers, KEF has expanded the functionality with additional USB-C and HDMI ARC inputs, and a new wireless control platform delivered via a brilliant app. Use the latter to browse streaming services, switch sources and access detailed EQ settings, then enjoy the powerful and natural performance of the LSX II. The small rear cabinet houses a custom-designed KEF Uni-Q array, tweeter and bass/midrange units, each driven by a separate Class D amplifier module. Available in a range of eye-catching colours.

System Audio Silverback 1 - speakers

Proving that impressive sound doesn't always require large floor-standing speakers, the Silverback 1s take advantage of their wall-mounted position to create impressive, rich bass. It's an impressive combination of well-designed hardware and proven Volumio software, allowing you to stream your music library, play files from a USB stick, and browse a wide range of streaming options.The software's extraordinary flexibility, including the ability to add additional features (including DSP) via plug-ins, is as appealing as the Rivo's ability to get the most out of your DAC of choice.

Hegel Viking - HIGH END CD player

This player from the Norwegian brand takes a no-nonsense purist approach, focusing on extracting every last drop of performance from your CD collection. To that end, Hegel has designed a high-quality AKM-based DAC stage and a fully balanced analog output that are powered by separate power supplies, while patented SoundEngine technology also suppresses digital jitter. Aesthetically matching Hegel's latest preamp and power amp designs, the Viking's premium sound is meant to be heard: articulate, three-dimensional and true to the source, making long listening an absolute pleasure. The excellent build quality and extreme ease of use only add to the appeal of this CD player.

Thorens TD 204 - turntable

A bridge between Thorens’ entry-level turntables and high-end models, this affordable turntable is designed for vinyl enthusiasts looking for an all-in-one solution but with room for improvement. With its internal “J-shaped” tonearm, Audio-Technica MM cartridge and integrated phono stage and electronic speed control, the TD 204 is a true plug-and-play solution. It delivers a sonic performance that is characterised by mid-range insight, excellent speed stability and an open, inviting soundstage. Plus, as the built-in phono preamp can be disconnected from the circuit, the TD 204 is perfectly suited for future cartridge and external phono stage upgrades.

Pro-Ject T2 W - turntable

The T2 W is a bold attempt to combine analog vinyl playback with digital convenience, and Pro-Ject manages to do it with gusto. At its core is a belt-drive turntable with a 9-inch aluminum tonearm and Sumiko MM cartridge, as well as electronic speed control, but the highlight of the T2 W is its built-in wireless module, allowing owners to stream music to network speakers and Hi-Fi systems.
