FiiO BTR15 headphone amplifier with DAC

FiiO BTR15 headphone amplifier with DAC is the latest and improved successor of the BTR5 model. It's basically a portable Bluetooth DAC and amplifier. This device has a very attractive design and is comfortable to hold in the hand. All elements of the BTR15 are solid and well made. The curved glass is particularly attractive, although the included plastic protective case is recommended due to the fragility of the design. On the right side of the device, there are several buttons for functions like volume control, song switching, answering calls, etc. There is also a button that allows you to switch between Bluetooth, USB and phone modes. The top of the device has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 4.4mm Balanced headphone jack. Finally, there is a single USB-C input jack on the bottom of the device.

Impeccable sound quality created by high-end components

Inside the BTR15 are dual ES9219MQ DAC chips that process audio up to 384 kHz / 32-bit. For this model, FiiO implemented an independent power supply system to power the DAC and amplifier. By isolating the power supply, the BTR15 can offer lower noise levels while increasing power output. The BTR15 uses Bluetooth 5.1 and supports almost all high-definition Bluetooth codecs, including aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX LL and LDAC. In addition, you can also play MQA files. The BTR15 has impressive power for such a small device. So, the power for this device is sufficient, unless you plan to use high-impedance planar headphones. The battery provides about 8 hours of use before the BTR15 is completely discharged. It is important to note that the BTR15 does not support fast charging, so some fast chargers may not work properly with this device.

    Easy to use every day

The BTR15 can also be controlled via an app that offers a fully customizable (global parametric) EQ with adjustable gain. In addition, you will be able to control additional features such as distortion compensation, Bluetooth codec selection and various operating modes, as well as several other additional setting options. The BTR15 has a pretty solid microphone. During the call, the interlocutor could hear me clearly, and the microphone did not pick up too much ambient noise.
