INDIANA LINE DIVE 5

The Indiana Line brand dates back to 1977. During its many years on the market, it has firmly established itself as one of the most important Italian brands in the audio industry. Indiana Line's product offering mainly consists of loudspeakers and mounted speakers. Indiana Line designers consistently strive to combine the highest quality production with the rational use of components. The result is models that outperform speakers in a similar price category in many ways.

DIVA - TOP SERIES IN THE NEW VERSION

Among all Indiana Line models, the Diva series audio speakers occupy a special place. This flagship product line perfectly combines elegant design with solid craftsmanship and excellent sound quality. The models of the new Diva series are characterized by mechanically and acoustically stable speaker "cabinets" and a stylish finish. The front part of the body is painted with matte varnish (white or black, depending on the color variant), and the rest of the body is covered with a PVC shell.

Two color options are available: black body with black front or oak body with white front.

STYLISH CABINET WITH DIRECT FRONT

The Diva 5 column has a two-part cabinet made of MDF. One of the parts is a 30 mm thick front panel, which increases the mechanical stability of the case and prevents unwanted resonance, significantly improving sound clarity. The front is slightly tilted back, with a lower bottom and a deeper top, giving the column a noble appearance as it rests on solid aluminum legs. The attractive design of the Diva 5 is accentuated by a magnetically attached, acoustically transparent grille, which replaces the previously used plastic pins for fixing the cover, as seen on other speakers in the Diva series.

IMPROVED ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC TRANSDUCER

The Diva 5 model has made several changes compared to the speakers available in the previous Diva series. Notably, the speaker baskets have been redesigned with more streamlined fins, reducing air resistance behind the membrane and reducing unwanted resonance. These baskets have been specially designed to work seamlessly with the Dual-Wave suspension, ensuring proper function and exceptional aesthetics.

COMPLEX CURV MEMBRANES

The 2.5-way Diva 5 speaker has Curv (polypropylene composite) diaphragms for the woofer and midrange speaker. This choice of woofer materials ensures a more neutral and accurate bass control. These particular membranes are only made to special order by Indiana Line.

COMPUTER OPTIMIZED PARAMETERS

The magnetic systems of the woofer and midrange speaker have been optimized using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to improve their performance at various amplitudes and frequencies. The magnetic cores of each transducer are highly saturated, reducing coil inductance and distortion, including intermodulation distortion. In addition, the inductance is linear, as in many earlier Indiana Line models, using an Aluring demodulation ring. This element has been used in both the low-mid and woofer drivers, resulting in a clearer and more expressive sound even at high volumes, regardless of the genre of music being played.

ORIGINAL PROTECTION DESIGN

A unique feature introduced for the first time in Indiana Line loudspeakers is Dual-Wave Surround Sound in the Diva 5 model's woofer and midrange drivers. This precision-engineered upper suspension extends the speaker's linear operating range, reducing distortion, especially in the bass registers, and improving midrange articulation. This has a positive effect, especially on the sound of percussion, string and acoustic instruments. The Dual-Wave solution also reduces frequency response irregularities due to diaphragm edge resonance without the need for additional varnishing. The visually appealing design of the Dual-Wave converters resembles professional stereo equipment with a so-called accordion suspension.

EXACT SILK-DOME HIGH FREQUENCY

Another new feature of Indiana Line speakers compared to speakers currently on the market is the tweeter design. It has a unique radial damping chamber in the form of a ring surrounding the coil, as opposed to the normally used volume behind the dome. This design provides a natural high-frequency sound and helps avoid the unwanted resonance often associated with conventional designs. The front panel of the Diva 5 tweeter has also been significantly modified, being cast in aluminum and featuring an optimally shaped rubber surface. These changes help to expand the sound space and more effectively fill the room with high frequencies.

COMPUTER OPTIMIZED CROSSOVER

The crossover used in the Diva 5 model has been redesigned and optimized using computer simulations. The circuit topology, number of components and their parameters have been precisely matched to the speaker cabinet and transducers, resulting in a balanced frequency range, low distortion, lower power loss and sound quality that has been confirmed by extensive listening tests. A specially designed crossover circuit allows the Diva 5 to work seamlessly with almost any amplifier.

AIR COILS AND FOIL CAPACITORS

The tweeter filter system uses only air-coil and foil capacitors, eliminating the potential distortion often associated with electrolytic capacitors or ferrite core coils. Where core coils are used in crossover switching, they have a laminated high silicon iron core to minimize iron core distortion.

The Indiana Line Diva 5 is a solidly designed and built 2.5-way speaker inspired by previous models in the series. However, compared to its predecessors, the Diva 5 has many improvements that have significantly improved the quality of the reproduced sound. These changes include the technical solutions, the components used and the finish of the speaker. Using a pair of Indiana Line Diva 5 floorstanding speakers, we can effectively amplify a room of up to about 25m² while delivering low distortion sound.

DIVA - TOP SERIES IN A NEW VERSION

STYLISH CABINET WITH A TILTED FRONT

The Diva 5 column has a two-piece cabinet made of MDF. One of the parts is the 30 mm thick front panel, which increases the mechanical stability of the housing and prevents unwanted resonances, significantly improving sound clarity. The front is slightly tilted backwards, with a shallower bottom and a deeper top, giving the column a noble look as it rests on solid cast aluminum legs. The attractive design of the Diva 5 is accentuated by the magnetically attached, acoustically transparent grille, which replaces the previously used plastic pins for attaching the cover, as seen in other Diva series columns.

ORIGINAL DESIGN OF THE RUBBER SURROUND

A unique feature introduced for the first time in Indiana Line loudspeakers is the Dual-Wave surround, present in both the woofer and midwoofer drivers of the Diva 5 model. This precisely designed upper suspension extends the linear operating range of the loudspeaker, reducing distortion, especially in the low bass registers, and improving midrange articulation. This has a positive impact, particularly on the sound of percussion, string, and acoustic instruments. The Dual-Wave solution also reduces irregularities in frequency response due to diaphragm edge resonance, without the need for additional lacquering. The visually attractive design of the Dual-Wave transducers resembles professional stereo equipment with so-called accordion suspension.

PRECISION SILK-DOME TWEETER

Another new feature in the Indiana Line loudspeakers, compared to those currently available on the market, is the tweeter design. It incorporates a unique radial damping chamber in the form of a ring surrounding the coil, in contrast to the commonly used volume behind the dome. This design ensures natural high-frequency sound and helps avoid unwanted resonances often associated with conventional designs. The tweeter faceplate in the Diva 5 has also undergone significant changes, being cast from aluminum and featuring an optimally shaped rubber surface. These changes contribute to widening the soundstage and filling the room more effectively with high frequencies.
