Denon is one of the rare audio brands that continues to actively develop Hi-Fi components, accumulate, improve, and transmit Hi-Fi audio technology. The DCD-1600NE focuses on the essence of disc players: extremely high-precision disc reading and high-quality audio signals to the amplifier. To achieve this, the signal path is shortened as much as possible and the entire cycle is made as small as possible. Engineers also redesigned the disc mechanism bracket and chassis to eliminate vibration, a disc player's worst enemy, and ensure extremely vibration-resistant operation. The information on the disc is now read with impeccable accuracy, the high-quality signal is fed to the DCD-1600NE's advanced AL32 Processing Plus circuit. In addition to CD and Super Audio CD playback, DCD features audio playback up to DVD R/RW discs recorded in PCM192/24 or DSD5.6 format, for total flexibility and greater access to high-resolution audio.

Advanced AL32 Processing Plus

The DCD-1600NE uses AL32 Processing Plus, the latest version of Denon's analog signal reproduction technology, which uses unique data interpolation algorithms and also supports high-resolution audio sources. These algorithms interpolate points that should exist before and after points in large amounts of data to achieve a smooth, as close as possible to the original signal. By carefully restoring data that was lost during digital recording, the final sound is highly accurate, distortion-free, precisely localized, richly expressive in the lower range, and faithful to the original sound.

New original Denon turntable design

The design of the DCD-1600NE turntable includes a high-end SVH mechanism. The scheme that is responsible for reading and decoding signals when reading from a disk has been updated. The signal path has been shortened to a minimum and the circuits have been reduced to avoid additional noise.

The SVH Loader is a hybrid construction that combines different materials, which gives the turntable such stability that the disc can be read with the highest precision. In addition, the low center of gravity of this mechanism suppresses any vibration occurring due to the rotation of the disc inside the mechanism, and the structure of the mechanism also effectively suppresses external vibration. By eliminating unwanted vibration, reducing unnecessary control and current consumption, digital signals can be read from the disk with optimal accuracy under stable conditions.

DSD data disc playback support

In addition to CDs and Super Audio CDs, the DCD-1600NE can play DSD (2.8 MHz/5.6 MHz) files and high-resolution files up to 192 kHz/24 recorded on DVD-R/RW and DVD + R/RW discs. Music files with a sample rate of up to 48 kHz recorded on CD-R/RW discs can also be played back.

Direct Mechanical

Earthing Construction

The integrity of musical signals is weakened when they are subjected to internal vibrations caused by disk rotation or power transformers, or vibrations caused by air due to sound transmission in speakers. To protect against such influences, Denon engineers have developed a vibration dampening structure called Direct Mechanical Ground Construction. In this design, the power transformers, which are themselves a source of vibration, have been placed at the bottom of the DCD-1600NE, where unwanted vibration is routed directly to the ground and has no effect on nearby chips. Also, by placing the drive mechanism - the part with the most mass - low in the center of the chassis, the low center of gravity effectively stops internal vibration caused by disc rotation, and also protects the mechanism from external vibration.

DAC Master Clock Design

To accurately synchronize digital circuits, the DCD-1600NE DAC Master Clock Design follows the DAC when clock signals are provided. Placing the master clock next to the D/A converter (DAC) suppresses jitter and ensures optimal accuracy in D/A conversion. In addition, the quality of the clock, which has a relationship with the semiconductor operation process, is very important to ensure that the digital audio circuit performs its job at a high level. Thus, the DCD-1600NE features a clock oscillator to significantly reduce phase noise, which is responsible for frequency shift. The watch's powertrain has also been significantly improved to bring out the full performance potential of the high-end watch. A conductive polymer capacitor with extremely unique high-frequency impedance characteristics due to Denon's renowned sound quality was placed at the base of the clock's power supply, and an ultra-compact film capacitor, different from a layered ceramic capacitor, was placed near the clock to enable an improved S/N ratio. and clear sound with the highest surround sound expression. The DCD-1600NE is equipped with two clock generators, one for each sampling rate (44.1kHz and 48kHz), which can be switched between frequencies with careful jitter suppression.

Scheme with reduced signal paths;

separate power transformers

The simple and clear design philosophy has been carefully implemented in all DCD-1600NE circuits. Circuit designs have been redesigned from the ground up to make signal paths as short as possible and ensure that the original sound is accurately reproduced across the sonic spectrum. As a result, interference between circuits and between left and right channels, as well as unwanted effects on audio signals, have been reduced to a minimum, reproducing accurate, highly transparent sound. In addition, power supply units for digital and analog circuits, whose signals have different characteristics, have separate transformers to eliminate mutual interference and noise. An aluminum plate was also bonded to the steel transformer base to increase rigidity.
