iLX-700, iPhone and Apple CarPlay — a great combination

Apple CarPlay enables safe and convenient use of iPhone in the car. Simply connect your iPhone to the iLX-700 and the Apple CarPlay icon will light up on the Alpine's screen.
Using the 7" touch screen or Siri, you will determine the destination of the route, make a call, search for music records or dictate SMS messages - or Siri will simply read the messages you receive.
Additionally, there are more Apple CarPlay-approved apps - Podcasts, Spotify, Internet radio and more - and the list is constantly expanding. Apple CarPlay allows you to use these apps without taking your eyes off the road.

Apple CarPlay apps

When you connect your iPhone, you'll find four pre-installed Apple CarPlay apps: Music, Phone, Maps and Messages.
They work almost the same as your iPhone, but have been optimized for use in the car while traveling. Tell Siri what music you want to listen to, dictate SMS messages, indicate your destination or make a call.

Below we will explain these basic apps in more detail. When the car is parked with the parking brake on, additional functions will be activated, for example a keyboard will appear, which you can use to enter the destination manually for the navigation system.

Phone

Apple CarPlay seamlessly integrates your iPhone for easier and more functional phone use in the car. Use Siri for calls, voice notifications, and keep your eyes on the road.

On the screen you will see contacts, call lists, a keyboard or a speed dial screen.

Music

All of your iPhone's music search functions can be directly controlled by the iLX-700's touch screen. You can also activate Siri and give voice commands. The USB connection ensures fast control and high sound quality.

Maps

Wherever you go, let Apple CarPlay guide you. Apple Maps will guide you along a given route, with turn-by-turn voice alerts, an interactive 3-D map showing the route, traffic conditions and estimated time of arrival, all displayed on the player's screen. As soon as you start entering the destination, Apple CarPlay will use various information to predict the destination.

Messages

The best way to send or receive messages while traveling is Apple CarPlay. Using voice commands, Siri can send, read or reply to received messages, while you can drive safely.

Additional Apple CarPlay apps

Additional Apple CarPlay approved apps such as Spotify, Podcasts, Radio and others can be downloaded from iTunes to your iPhone and you will see these apps in the player's Apple CarPlay menu. For more information about updates and new apps, visit the Apple CarPlay website.

Siri

Apple CarPlay uses Siri voice control to help you drive safely. Tell Siri what music you want to listen to and Siri will turn it on. Want to read or send a text message? Siri will do it for you. Do you want to answer the call or make the call yourself? Siri will be a great helper. You can seamlessly activate Siri by pressing the default button on the iLX-700 or the multifunction steering wheel.

Download the Alpine TuneIt App to your iPhone, create a user account based on your car and audio system. BASS ENGINE SQ

This advanced bass control function automatically adjusts the pass filter, Q factor and woofer level to achieve the optimal frequency balance. Five presets are provided for quick setup.

Short body

Due to the very short body (7cm), the iLX-700 can be installed in almost all cars. This is very important for owners of VW Golf 7, BMW Series 1, BMW Series 3 and other cars with a shallow 2DIN installation location.
