Built-in stereo receiver, HDAM developed by Marantz, specially selected components and vibration dampening three-layer bottom plate are used for the best sound quality. For the purest audio signal transmission, the "source-direct" mode, and the Phono MM input, allows you to connect a turntable and listen to vinyl records.
  • Power: at 8 ohms 70 W / 100 W at 4 ohms
  • Reproducible frequencies: 5 Hz-100 kHz
  • Damping Factor : 100
  • Dimensions: 440 x 379 x 128 mm / Weight: 12.0 kg
  • Sensitivity: 87 dB

The built-in stereo amplifier PM8005 produces 2x 70W (8 Ohm) power, and the perfect sound balance is ensured by the symmetrical circuit architecture. To provide music listeners with an exceptional listening experience, Marantz engineers designed a completely new Toroidal Transformer circuit and optimized the power handling characteristics. The result is a feedback amplifier with a huge power reserve that effortlessly handles even the most demanding loudspeakers. For the best sound quality, the PM8005 uses HDAM developed by Marantz, specially selected components and a vibration-damping three-layer bottom plate. For the purest audio signal transmission, PM8005 has "source-direct" mode, and the Phono MM input allows you to connect a turntable and listen to vinyl records. Divine.

  • 6 audio inputs
  • HDAM version: SA3, SA2

This integrated stereo amplifier is designed for audiophiles seeking excellent music quality and versatile performance.

HDAM SA3

To replace standard integrated circuits, Marantz developed its own discrete circuit board - HDAM. HDAMs are discrete surface mounted components with short symmetrical L/R signal paths. The principle of operation is the same as that of standard operational amplifiers, but HDAM has much better characteristics, more dynamic, more accurate and detailed sound. For better quality and to meet specific needs (for CD players or amplifiers), Marantz has developed different types of HDAM.

Selected components

An electrical component may look great on paper, but once the component enters the circuit, the result may be unsatisfactory. Marantz selects the right components for each build. In some cases, it is simply impossible to use off-the-shelf components that do not meet Marantz's high standards. In this case, the components are manufactured specifically for Marantz in close cooperation with Marantz engineers.

Power Amp Direct

"Power Amp Direct" extends the functionality of the integrated stereo amplifier, the device can function only as a power amplifier. When Power Amp Direct is enabled, only the power amplifier is used for the front speakers of a stereo or multi-channel system. When this function is disabled, the amplifier functions as a conventional integrated stereo amplifier. Most importantly, it all works at the push of a button - no need to switch cables. Power Amp Direct can be used in a stereo bi-amp system.

Schottky diodes

"Shottky" is a special type of diode, compared to conventional ones, characterized by a very low initial voltage drop. The lower the voltage drop, the higher the efficiency of the system. Shottky diodes process the signal very quickly, can work at high temperatures and are sensitive to very low voltages.

Current feedback

Current Feedback amplification is a well-known circuit technology developed by Marantz. Offering wide bandwidth and high-speed playback, this technology is perfectly suited to the high demands placed on Super Audio software. The impedance is limited at the feedback point, creating a very small phase shift. Marantz receivers and amplifiers that use current feedback technology can maintain minimal phase compensation through negative feedback, creating high bandwidth, excellent transient response and sound transparency. Unlike conventional Voltage Feedback amplification, Current Feedback amplification reduces the sensitivity of the amplifier to high loads.

Toroidal transformer

Compared with the conventional El-core transformer, the Toroidal one has several advantages: more efficient, can generate more power, due to its shape, the electromagnetic radiation and mechanical vibrations are extremely small. This gives better sound quality.
