The Technics SL1200 was designed to be a turntable rugged enough for professional use, yet simple and attractive enough for home use. Starting life in the early 1970s, the SL1200 went through five versions (in the UK) and even when around 2010 went out of business, it was still considered by many to be the benchmark turntable for club use. Now she's back and, in G form, she's the best regular model ever!

Coreless direct drive motor

Concept : Traditional analog turntables often suffer from sound quality degradation issues due to small speed vibrations and rotational irregularities known as "hooking". The SL-1200G features a newly developed coreless direct motor with no iron core to eliminate these interferences. The dual rotor design reduces bearing load while maintaining high torque, thus reducing vibration during rotation. This construction ensures extremely detailed and warm sound from analog recordings.

High precision motor control technology

Using motor control technology developed for Blu-ray drives, the drive mode is changed depending on the motor's operating state. This allows for high torque and stability, even at high speeds.

Three-layer turntable disc

The turntable's construction features a three-layer system that uses a brass and aluminum die-cast plate, with damping rubber covering the entire rear surface. This eliminates unnecessary resonance, ensuring rigidity and vibration damping. This design provides stable rotational balance and increased inertial mass above the standards for broadcast turntables.

High-level balance adjustment

An imbalance in the turntable's weight can cause vibrations and noise, reducing sound quality. Each turntable is balanced at the factory using special equipment, and after adjustment is marked with a "BALANCED" sticker to confirm balancing.

High sensitivity sound receiver

The sound receiver is made of lightweight magnesium, which has excellent damping properties. It uses the traditional Technics gimbal suspension design with the axles intersecting at a single point. High precision bearings and rigid structure are used to ensure high initial rotation sensitivity.

Four-layer body construction

The SL-1200G has a four-layer body that uses aluminum, BMC and rubber. A 10mm aluminum top plate provides additional stiffness and the overall design provides a high quality finish and feel.

High quality terminals

Uses polished brass, gold-plated audio and ground terminals that maintain excellent sound quality. In addition, the metal shielding structure inside reduces the impact of external noise.
