Anthem MCA 525 2nd Generation is Anthem's top of the range 5-channel AV power amplifier made to complement Anthem's improved AVM pre-amplifier range.

Anthem's 2nd generation MCA Series delivers lower THD (total harmonic distortion) for a cleaner, purer sound and lower noise for an extremely quiet background hum whilst in use. With a complete redesign internally, the external features are also upgraded to a sturdy, robust and stylish unit that matches the AVM range wonderfully.

Anthem MCA Range

The MCA-525 Gen 2 is a 5-channel power amplifier that delivers 225 watts per channel; it is the highest in the MCA range due to the amount of channels and incredible spec. Anthem have designed all the amplifiers in the MCA Gen 2 range to be like no other amplifier range in the world by installing custom low noise high-power Toroidal transformers; high-current bipolar output transistors; oversized aluminum heatsinks; high-quality filter capacitors; advanced power supply regulators; custom-designed dual binding posts; patented auto-on/off circuitry and superior craftsmanship. Anthem MCA Gen 2 amplifiers are designed, engineered and hand-built in Canada.

What's New in MCA 525 Gen2?

The 2nd generation MCA range has been completely redesigned. There is reduced cabling to help create a much smoother circuit path to maintain an unobstructed audio performance. And in keeping with the AVM range the use of low-flux Toroidal transformers and improved input transistors are incorporated to provide a greater sense of transparency, even with dynamically complex material.

Exclusive ALM (Advanced Load Monitoring) technology monitors internal temperature, current and voltage to ensure safe and uninterrupted long-term operations. This is in place just in case a fault should arise. In this unlikely situation, unaffected channels continue to play and all-channel operation resumes automatically once conditions are back to normal.

Going Green

One of the most interesting additions to the MCA525 2nd Gen is its power usage. While most 5-channel amplifiers use a single power supply for front left and right channels and another power supply for the center and surround, the new MCA 525 GEN 2 shares it's two power supplies between all channels. This results in full bursts of power without affecting channel separation.

The MCA-525 GEN 2 Amplifier now uses only 2 Watts in standby mode; it's a much a 'greener' way forward. And as with all Anthem amplifiers, they can be switched on manually, via trigger, or by sensing an input signal.
