Denon is one of the rare audio brands that continue to actively develop Hi-Fi components and accumulate knowledge, improve, and pass on Hi-Fi audio technology. 2500NE series for today's age. It was created by combining the knowledge of veteran engineers and talented young engineers who inherited DENON's accumulated experience cultivated and accumulated over many years and decades. The DCD-2500NE is designed to achieve the essential purpose of a disc player: ultra-high-precision disc scanning and high-quality audio signal feeding to the amplifier. To achieve this, signal paths are designed as short as possible and the circuit is simplified. In order to create a particularly vibration-resistant player, the engineers also redesigned the reinforcement of the disc mechanism and the chassis in order to eliminate unwanted vibration, the great enemy of disc players. Disc information is now read with flawless precision, and the advanced AL32 Plus processing delivers a clean, high-quality signal to the DCD-2500NE's output. For full flexibility and wider access to high-resolution audio, the DCD-2500NE is capable of playing not only CDs and super audio CDs, but also audio tracks recorded on DVD R/RW up to PCM192/24 or DSD5.6 format.

Improved SVH Mechanism, Denon's original turntable design

The disc read mechanism built into the DCD-2500NE is a high-end advanced SVH (Vibration Suspension Hybrid). Newly designed mechanism control and signal detection schemes. Signal paths have been shortened to a minimum, and miniature size circuits have been used to ensure that excess current and noise do not occur. The parts of the player are made of selected materials, such as: a combination of stainless steel and copper, strengthening the rigidity of the outer casing, a cast aluminum disc tray and 2mm thick steel to cover the entire mechanism. High mass improvements, improved anti-vibration properties and elimination of resonance hotspots at high volume. Also, the lowered center of gravity of the mechanism suppresses the propagation of any internal vibrations while the disc rotates, and the structure and design of the mechanism resists external vibrations. By eliminating unwanted vibration, auxiliary operations are reduced, cutting off unnecessary control and current consumption, digital signals are read from the disk with optimal accuracy under stable conditions.

DAC Master Precision Clock Design

For the most accurate synchronization of the digital signal processing scheme, the DCD-2500NE DAC Master Clock corrects the signal when the signal is submitted to the DAC for processing. Denon's Master Clock is located next to the digital-to-analog converter and directly suppresses vibrations to ensure optimal accuracy during signal conversion. In addition, the quality of the clock, which depends on the performance of the semiconductors, is very important to ensure that the digital audio circuit reveals its maximum potential. Thus, the DCD-2500NE uses a clock oscillator inside, significantly reducing phase noise, the cause of frequency shift. In order for the premium watch to reveal its full potential, the power scheme has been usefully improved. Conductive polymer capacitor with extremely excellent high-frequency transmission characteristics, improving Denon's sound quality, built into the base of the clock's power supply, near the clock, super-compact film capacitor is used instead of ceramic capacitors to improve the S/N ratio, transparent sound with the highest sense of spatial expression. To improve the PMA-2500NE, two clock oscillators are implemented, one for each sampled frequency (44.1 kHz and 48 kHz). They can be turned on to thoroughly dampen vibrations between frequencies as well.

State-of-the-art AL32 Plus processing

The digital signal is processed by the DCD-2500NE with an advanced AL32 Plus processor. Denon's latest analog wave processing technology that uniquely uses data interpolation algorithms and also supports high-resolution audio sources. These algorithms insert points that should have existed before compressing large amounts of information to achieve a smooth signal that resembles the original signal. AL32 Plus, in the process of enriching the data that was lost during digital recording, sounds very detailed, without distortion, the scene becomes precisely localized, and the sound is richly expressive in the lower range, and very close to the original sound.

Independent power transformers for analog and digital circuit

An analog signal differs from a digital signal and has different characteristics, so separate power transformers are used to eliminate mutual interference and noise. In order to strengthen the rigidity of the structure, the bottom of the transformers is additionally connected to an aluminum plate.

Power supply unit for analog audio circuit.

A newly developed original Denon high-capacity (3300 μF) capacitor is used after the D/A converter circuit to power the analog audio unit. The DCD-2500NE is also equipped with custom-made parts such as: high-sounding electrolytic capacitors and polyphenylene sulfide capacitors, which were developed together with the parts manufacturers through many part-ring tests. These parts provide clean and powerful, very stable power delivery, resulting in a sound that is delightfully balanced between solid and subtle details.

Shortening of signal tracks

The design philosophy of "simple and straight" has been carefully implemented in all the schemes of the DCD-2500NE. Circuit designs have been redesigned from the ground up to make signal paths as short as possible and ensure accurate sound reproduction across the entire frequency range. As a result, the effect of interference between circuits, between left and right channels is reduced. The reduction of unwanted influence on audio signals is reflected in the DCD-2500NE's clean, highly transparent sound.

Construction of direct attachment to the surface

The integrity of musical signals is degraded when they are subjected to internal vibration caused by the power transformer, rotating disc, or air pressure vibration caused by the speakers. To protect against such influences, Denon's engineers have developed a vibration damping structure called "Direct Mechanical Ground Construction". In this design, the power transformers - the sources of vibration - are mounted above the legs of the DCD-2500NE, so that unwanted vibration is directed directly to the ground and does not affect nearby chips. In addition, by placing the turntable mechanism - the component with the largest mass - as low as possible to the center of the player, the low center of gravity effectively absorbs the internal vibration caused by the rotation of the disc and also protects the mechanism from external vibration. To further prevent external vibration, the 1.2mm-thick main body has been reinforced with two 1.6mm-thick steel sheets to create a heavy-duty three-layer structure that effectively protects components from external vibration.

BMC legs

The legs supporting the turntable mechanism, the power transformer, and the heavy, robust body are made of high-density, high-rigidity cast alloy (BMC). Stiffness has been enhanced by using fiberglass (BMC) in the material. High-density tactile material on the bottom of the feet, selected after extensive testing with various materials. The overall design of the feet provides additional protection against vibration, while careful sound packaging has been done for a balanced sound.

Playing DSD files from disc

In addition to CD and Super Audio CD, the DCD-2500NE can play DSD (2.8 Mhz / 5.6 MHz) files and high-resolution files up to 192 kHz / 24-bit recorded on DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs or files from a CD-R/RW disc up to 48kHz.

Aluminum surface remote control that can also control the amplifier

The DCD-2500NE comes with an aluminum-plated remote control that is also capable of controlling the PMA-2500NE and other Denon CD players.
