With the advent of modern turbo-diesel and turbo-gasoline engines with an electronic fuel injection system controlled by a computer, the possibility to adjust the control process by changing the engine control parameters also appeared.
Most engines are produced in different capacities to meet various customer needs (due to insurance fees etc.) and the prices of more powerful cars also differ, although the engines themselves are identical and do not differ in any way. Our goal is to make maximum use of the power reserve left by the manufacturers.
What does "chipping" do? - Power, economy (an engine with a higher torque consumes less fuel while moving the same weight of the car), faster accelerator response (especially in long-thinking cars with automatic gearboxes), safe cornering and, most importantly, a pleasant drive.
Modifying the program is a complex job that requires a lot of specific knowledge, professional software and rewriting equipment costs several tens of thousands of euros. Therefore, a high-quality chiptuning service is not cheap, it is clear that the market is full of "engineers" who promise to add a lot of horsepower and at a ridiculous price, probably many people know the saying - stingy pays twice!
