This device is a wireless element of the home control system, designed to capture the opening/closing of doors, windows, gates or similar objects by magnetic contact and to report it wirelessly.

A universal magnetic door/window sensor that does not require any wires - data is transmitted via the wireless Z-Wave standard, and the power source can be changed in any internal element. This sensor can be installed practically anywhere: at any door, window or garage door.

The sensor expands the functions of the system, giving the possibility not only to monitor the opening of doors or windows, but also has a temperature sensor and a contact input that can be used to connect an external switch or sensor.

It can be used for automatic lighting control, access control and security systems, indoor microclimate monitoring and control. This universal sensor at home increases security and provides more comfort for residents.

This sensor contains 4 devices:

1. Magnetic contact

Wireless sensors installed in the premises will provide additional information to the main controller of Home Center2, the information can be used to control other components of the FIBARO system. The main controller constantly checks the status of windows or doors and will respond to changes if necessary. This sensor can be used as an element of a security system that will notify you when doors or windows are opened. Also, as an additional element, it can automatically control the lighting or ventilation system when the room door is opened/closed. These are just some of the possibilities of using this sensor.

2. Wireless switch sensor

The door/window sensor can be used with Home Center2 to trigger any function. When the contact input of this sensor is connected to a normal wall switch, it can be used to control other components of the system, such as turning on or off the lighting of the whole house, turning on irrigation or other devices. The sensor pin input is designed to allow the user to connect a previously unplanned switch to the desired location without the need to run new cables. The number of sensors and their placement in the premises is no longer limited by your interior design or wiring infrastructure.

3. Temperature sensor

The door/window module also works with the already standard DS18B20 temperature sensor (sold separately). This small sensor is installed in the door/window sensor and transmits temperature readings to the overall system wirelessly. Installation of the temperature sensor is very simple. Simply connect the sensor terminals to the contact block and tighten them. The temperature sensor expands the functionality of the entire system. A universal door/window sensor with a temperature sensor provides information to the Home Center2 controller, which, upon receiving information about the readings of the open window sensor, reacts accordingly by controlling the heating or air conditioning systems. The temperature sensor can also be used in the creation and control of the heating control profile.

4. Scene switch

The door/window sensor has a unique function that can automatically activate or deactivate a pre-programmed equipment operation scene. Any input from the sensor, be it a magnetic contact, temperature readings, or the activation of a connected external sensor, can activate a programmed scene and thus react to the change that has occurred.

Easy and quick installation

Installation of this sensor is really very simple. Simply take the sensor out of the box, after opening the case, remove the protective tab from the power supply and connect the sensor to the main controller. The sensor can be fixed to its future location with the supplied double-sided sticker or screws.

Low energy consumption ensures the operation of the power cell for up to 2 years. The sensor will automatically warn you in advance of a low battery and its status. The current state of the element is always visible on the control interface of the main sensor.

Wireless update

The modern FIBARO door/window sensor is designed so that its software can be updated wirelessly. Each device update happens smoothly and without any additional user action. The fully automated software update is not only convenient, but also safe.
