This "Steel-Mate" parking system will help you avoid obstacles when parking in various situations - whether it is a tight parking lot or parallel parking. The parking system for the front and rear has 8 distance sensors, which are located four each in both bumpers of the car.
The eight-sensor system is characterized by the fact that when the driver is parking in reverse, it is not only warned of an obstacle from the rear, but also signals dangers from the front, thus it protects the driver from accidentally hitting a standing pole, a car on the side, etc. in front of the car. Just like when parking in front, the system keeps a watchful eye for obstacles from the rear. Therefore, the front-rear system is the best when it comes to alerting obstacles because it works on both the rear and the front at the same time.
How does the system work?
Two screens are installed that inform about the distance to the obstacle.
4 ultrasonic sensors are installed in the front bumper. After pressing the brake pedal, when there is less than 0.8 m, the front sensors start measuring and presenting visual information on the screen and audio information with the help of beeps. The screen can also show which side is approaching the obstacle more. Also, approaching an obstacle can be heard from increasingly frequent beeps. A continuous beep is heard when the obstacle is very close.
4 ultrasonic sensors are also installed in the rear bumper. When the reverse gear is engaged, the sensors begin to measure and provide visual information on the screen and audio information with the help of beeps. On the screen you can see which side is closer to the obstacle. Also, approaching an obstacle can be heard from increasingly frequent beeps. When the obstacle is very close, a continuous sound signal is heard.
Sensors used: 14D-12 . Their advantages:
- A smaller gap between the sensor head and the bumper means less space for rainwater or snow to accumulate
- The spring has been replaced with silicone - resulting in less resonance with the metal bumper
- 14mm sensor base is more stable than 12mm
- It is more convenient to change the angle of the sensor cover
Why are sensors mounted on the inside of the bumper good?
- These sensors adapt to the thickness of the bumper - the image corresponds to the one obtained in the factory
- The initial angle of the sensor is 0 degrees. This means it is completely flat to the bumper surface
Painting of parking sensors
Sensors are standard:
- Black color;
- Black mats
- Silver color
- White color
We can customize other color. The sensors can be painted in the existing color of the car.
