Advanced phase precision drive In order to reproduce music with enhanced surround sound expression, it is necessary that the fronts of sound waves reflected by the speaker device are aligned, regardless of the listening position. The point sound source concept is one of the best ways to achieve this.
To realize point sound source reproduction, a coaxial configuration was created and then combined with an original shaped linear phase plug for phase matching and a smooth flow diaphragm formed with a shallow diaphragm and a smooth edge to minimize sound reflections. The result is a spherical wave and aligned reflected sound wavefronts.
The SB-C600 2-Way Coaxial Speaker delivers clear sound image localization and smooth, emotional high-quality sound while maintaining the point source and linear phase concepts that Technics relentlessly strives for.

Line phase plug

Line phase plug The original shaped acoustic plug is located on the front side of the tweeter diaphragm and ensures high-resolution sound reproduction and a wide soundstage.

Smooth flow diaphragm

Smooth flow diaphragm If the sound wave encounters irregularities on the sound-transmitting surface, the wavefront is disturbed by the shape of the irregularities and, as a result, the frequency characteristics deteriorate. High frequencies, which are characterized by short wavelengths, are more susceptible to degradation of sound characteristics. The woofer diaphragm in the coaxial speaker is shallow-shaped and smooth-edged to reduce sound reflection. This results in minimal disturbance to the sound wave front reflected by the diaphragm, ensuring impeccable frequency range, phase characteristics and wide directivity.
This configuration produces a wide sound, as well as smooth and rich mid and high frequencies.

Smooth flow port

Smooth flow port The conventionally shaped Bass Reflex port creates a large airflow vortex that emits an annoying high-frequency noise. Technics adapted an air flow control method used in airplane wings and created a cross-sectional port using flow analysis. The optimally designed port shape does not interfere with the airflow to the port and ensures quality bass reproduction, minimal noise and perfect response.

Stationary construction

It completely removes unwanted noises and reproduces only the necessary sounds with an extremely high signal-to-noise ratio. The "Balanced Drive Mount Architecture" used in the high-end SB-G90M2 has been optimized for this model using CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering). In addition, a newly designed speaker mounting baffle has been developed to connect the speaker parts together to reinforce the durability of the entire enclosure. The combination of these factors increases the advantages of the center of gravity of the mounting structure. The strength and shape of each part of the coaxial speaker system has been carefully studied to eliminate unnecessary vibrations and noise.

Balanced drive mounting architecture

Balanced drive mounting architecture To reproduce quiet, low-distortion sound, the SB-C600 uses speaker mounting baffles that have been optimized by CAE to optimize the low-resonance, solid design concept of the SB-G90M2.
Original shaped speaker mounting baffle controls fatigue concentration. The speaker mounting baffle reinforces the vents enough to ensure smooth reproduction of sound reflected from the rear walls of the speaker and improve response while maintaining low resonance and rigidity. In addition, this structure reduces the vibration of the entire body and at the same time minimizes the impact on other equipment.
